Member artists meet to critique art, discuss art, share their newest creations or just visit. Artists are also encouraged to share their artistic expertise with mini-classes and presentations.
Monthly field trips are another part of the members only activities.

Often as artists, we are reluctant to promote our creative work. We feel that our art should “sell itself”. Rachel will present why art sales strategies should be part of your tool kit. Self-promotion and art promotion are key factors in selling art. She will discuss topics pertaining to personal art goals, social media, and pricing. Whether you are a hobbyist or a seasoned professional, there will be plenty to learn. Private consultations are availble before and after class at an additional cost.

Approach landscape painting using personal photos for the subject matter, and see what fun adding lots of color and texture can be! Come and paint the day away in a loose way, applying bold, big brushstrokes loaded with paint. You will learn to add texture with gels and figure out which gel best suits you as you create little paintings packed with emotion. The focus of the class will be on capturing larger shapes rather than details as you simplify the landscape images. You will be encouraged to work quickly with big brush strokes or swiftly apply paint with a palette knife. Have fun using paint mixed with gels to create thick, textural paintings filled with lots of energy. The class will warm up with quick drawings to define shapes and forms in the landscape image to be painted. Each student will finish several small paintings during the class, all with a different feel depending on the acrylic materials used. All levels of painting experience are welcome.
Bring to class: (1) At least 4 large synthetic brushes: flats and filberts at least 1”. (2) Several 6”x10” or 8”x10” surfaces to paint. These can be canvas, canvas boards, or gessoed hardboard surfaces. (3) Bring landscape photos or use the instructor’s photo.

This class is for anyone interested in the art of how wool is made into something tangible. No experience is necessary and techniques of needle or wet felting will be used. Needle felting is a dry process and is generally used to make 3-D objects and we will make a small bird. Wet felting uses water, soap, and agitation to create a solid piece, and you will make a wallet, small vessel, or glasses case. The skills learned in this class will start you on your textile journey and might lead you to even making your mittens and hats!
